Barack Obama, or, as I like to call him, the Obamination, does not, even in rhetoric, directly support anything that I believe in. In fact, I am not sure that he supports anything at all directly, judging from the speeches, debates, and rallies of his that I have observed. He may have a wonderful persona and oration, and may even be a "rockstar," and he may be the "cool" thing to vote for, but what I cannot understand is how anyone can actually vote for him if they learn what he stands for, because, it seems, he does not stand for much at all besides abortion. All of his vague rhetoric about change really boils down to nothing besides glittering generalities.
John McCain, on the other hand, whom I actually supported until a week or so ago, is also a poor choice for this election. He says he supports certain things, but in reality, he lies about many things. His rhetoric on abortion and Pro-Life aside, he has voted again and again in congress in the opposite of these false promises. He really has many liberal tendencies, and all he does is consistently use conservative rhetoric to try and win votes. His running mate, Sarah Palin, actually adheres to her stated beliefs, and people across the nation call her out for it. I don't understand the point of preaching a lie to some prospective constituents. If nothing else, it is ethically wrong.
Regardless of what the media tells you, both of the candidates are remarkably similar. They both supported the ridiculous $700 billion bailout plan. They both refuse to admit that the Israeli slaughtering of Palestinians was a wrongful act. They both will stay in Iraq ad infinitem. They both wish to increase the troop presence in Afghanistan. They both use rhetoric to deceive voters as to their beliefs. They both wish to increase the viability of a New World Order. They both lie profusely almost every time they speak. They both have supported, and continue to support, socialism and the forceful push of American ideals upon all other nations. Neither of their parties truly has a unique identity, but instead they are a single party, the so called Business Party, who's only goal is to play the people to make as much money as possible. For all of these reasons, I refuse to support either Barack Obama or John McCain.
The candidate that I hereby endorse is Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. I have many reasons for this, and while I do not believe in forcing one's beliefs upon another, My belief is that he is the only true hope for America this election. First of all, he, as a third party candidate, has no connection to the ridiculous actions of the Business Party. He supports the emplacement of English as the official language of America, and the closing of borders, and an increase in intolerance toward companies that employ illegal immigrants. He wants to tear apart the government, and erase the actions of the corrupt administrations that have held the presidency for so long. He wants to make sure that the Constitution is upheld to the highest extent, and remove as much of the bills that take away rights enumerated in the Constitution and subsequent amendments. He supports the removal of corporate welfare. He is fundamentally against socialism, and will halt the increase of the social movement that has become the norm of government since FDR. He is truly Pro-Life, and will force the overturn of Roe v. Wade(which, in a 6 year control of congress, is something the Republican party failed to do), which, to say nothing of ethics, is an unconstitutional decision, because the federal government has no ability laid out in the Constitution to manage anything even remotely related to abortion. He is adamantly against the police state that so many Americans, myself included, believe is on the way if something does not change soon. He refuses to make individuals and businesses bow to the government, and believes that America should serve Americans, not the other way around. He believes in the decrease in government, and the increase in military strength, but also the removal from current conflicts. He believes in the decrease in taxes and spending, and the use of a tariff to persuade corporations to keep American business American. He supports the movement for unobstructed gun rights. Finally, he is against the New World Order, which is the supreme globalization of the economic and political systems. This is something that I have not given much thought to until recently, when I saw the item on his platform. At first, I completely rejected the idea as absurd, but as I gave it more and more thought, I came to believe that Baldwin was correct on this topic.
NAFTA and other free trade organizations do nothing to help the American economy, and instead do the absolute opposite by shipping American jobs overseas(including the building of infrastructure, i.e. the Texas Superhighway being built by Mexican companies), as well as cause huge trade deficits. Baldwin supports the elimination of these unfair agreements immediately. Another thing that he supports against the New World Order is the removal of the United States from the United Nations. At first this may seem like a bad idea, but consider the following:
- The UN forces the United States to become a "world policeman" that is not necessary, under the leadership of non-Americans.
- Any mandate that someone were to try to pass against the evil currently expanding in Russia is immediately vetoed, because Russia has full veto powers due to its membership upon the UN security council.
- The UN is situated on what should be American soil, and yet it is a breeding ground for anti-American sentiments, as well as a speaking place for people like Hugo Chavez, who consistently slander America, without repercussion.
Why would I support a candidate that "can't win," you might ask. Well, as John Quincy Adams once said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." If I were to support a mainstream candidate, I would be guilty of this crime, and would, to be honest, have trouble living with myself. If people only vote for the "least worst" then the nation will continue to remain in a corporate choke hold. The more that people fight the two party system, the less restrictive it will become. In conclusion, I leave it to you; whoever you pick, pick for your true beliefs. Do not be swayed by the rhetoric of the Business Party, instead, vote because you know what your candidate supports is right.
